Grimoire is a Half Life 2 Total Conversion team project completed during Terms 6 and 7 at The Guildhall. The project was developed by 5 programmers, 4 artists, and 6 level designers.

Features:

  • Console-style 2 player fighting game with 9 unique spells and 2 characters.
  • 2 beautiful levels tweaked for maximum playability.
  • Dozens of custom particle effects illuminating the screen in a dazzeling magic display.

I was responsible for:

  • A Custom XML configuration system which allows gameplay variables and particle effects to be created and tweaked in real time: no need to even restart the game.
  • A Particle System heavily enhanced beyond the basic HL2 particle effects which allows effects to be created entirely in XML.
  • Numerous spell particle effects for the spells.
  • Various areas of gameplay code.
  • Several sections of the TDD.
